Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital was founded in 1958 as a non-profit, general acute care facility for Hospital Service District #1 of Vermilion Parish. The hospital has 50 licensed beds and employs approximately 112 employees in the City of Kaplan.

The scope of services offered at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital include general surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, laboratory and radiology, nuclear medicine, CT scanning and mammography, ultrasound and anesthesia, rehabilitation and outpatient psychiatric services, as well as a 24-hour emergency service.  Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital is an affiliate of Lafayette General Medical Center.
