SMALL BUSINESS STARTUP ASSISTANCE
The Acadiana Regional Development District is excited to offer two programs to individuals interested in starting a small business. These programs offer training, technical assistance and credit counseling services at no cost.
The Louisiana MicroEnterprise program is offered to individuals with children under the age of 18 and with income below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines or receiving any public assistance including free school lunch, TANF, STEP, child care assistance, food stamps, La CHIP, etc. IDA (Individual Development Accounts) funding may be available upon completion of training. (IDA funding is based on availability and not guaranteed.)
For individuals and businesses affected by the Gulf Oil Spill, a new program is available through Louisiana Workforce. Individuals or businesses affected can call the ARDD office for information on training and technical assistance.
If you are reside or work in Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, St. Landry, St. Mary and Vermilion Parishes you may be eligible for free services. Training will be offered in Vermilion Parish and the surrounding areas including Lafayette, Crowley, Opelousas, and Ville Platte.
