Vermilion Parish is recovering from the devastation caused by Hurricane Rita in September 2005. Storm surge affected most of the coastal communities in the parish, nearly wiping out some of these communities.
The 2007 Hurricane Season is fast approaching! In an effort to keep its citizens informed with the latest information, Vermilion and Iberia Parishes have joined together to produce the Emergency Guide: Planning, Preparation and Response for Hurricanes and Other Disasters.
Vermilion Parish Police Jury will continue to update this page with information that could affect you, the citizens of our great parish. Begin preparations early. And, remember, if you are asked to evacuate, please do so in a timely manner.
